ABOUT TINTYPE

Tintype is a photographic process from the mid-1800s using collodion and silver to make a positive image on a plate of metal. From start to finish, it takes about 20 minutes to make a single image. After the images are washed thoroughly and dried, they get varnished with sandarac/lavender oil. Through a combination of technique, knowledge, and magic, a one-of-a-kind, handmade image is created that can last generations.

You receive both high-resolution digital scans as well as varnished tintype plates.
